When it comes to stopping sexual abuse, there are just as many different ways of preventing sexual abuse as there is of stopping it. If you watch television, there are certain television news magazine shows and certain day time talk shows that will leave you with somewhat of a warped outlook of our current situation on sexual abuse. These television news shows and day time talk shows would have you to believe that most of our sexual abuse is being caused by strangers such as strange men on the internet, or some creepy guy at the park. What these television news magazine shows and these day time talk shows would have you to believe is just simply not true. The fact of the matter is that most of our sexual abuse today is caused by a relative, family member, community leader, or church officials.
However, there are ways of preventing and stopping sexual abuse in our society today. Always stay on the alert, be very watchful, and pay close attention to what's going on around you. If you notice anything suspicious call 911 and the police. When your children come to talk to you, take the time to listen to what they've got to say and remove them from any potentially dangerous, unsafe, and life threatening situations. If anyone is in any danger of being sexually abused, especially a young child, provide them with a safe place and a safe environment to go to. The best way to prevent and stop sexual abuse is through education. Educate yourself, your family, and the rest of the general public about the signs and symptoms of sexual abuse.
